I recently had the opportunity to speak at the first City Council, District 9, candidate forum and it was a very well-run event with great attendance and even better questions about affordability, housing and transportation. Thank you AURA, Downtown Austin Neighborhood Association, Friends of Austin Neighborhoods (FAN), ReThink 35, Farm&City, Safe Streets and everyone who hosted us. Adding in all the 1:1 meetings I’m having each week plus the fundraisers, and I have enjoyed feeling the momentum of our grassroots campaign pick up.
We’ll pick up the pace on the campaign trail even more in the coming weeks and here’s your first chance to get involved at the ground level.
On Saturday June 25, I’d love to have you join us to blockwalk the historic Clarksville and Old West Austin neighborhoods where you’ll meet my neighbors and make sure fellow Austinites know about the upcoming election and my proven track record of arts, business and community leadership in Austin.
The event starts at 10am but you are welcome to come anytime between 10am and noon to help out. Use the sign-up link here on Mobilize to join. And, yes, we’ll have breakfast tacos and beverages on site.
